FIELD: rolled stock production, namely constructions of reducing mills, possibly used in tube rolling aggregates. SUBSTANCE: reducing mill includes mounted on pedestal and arranged in row one after another three- high rolling stands having rolls mounted alternatively by 180 degrees; drive mechanism. In housing of each stand at end sides there are recesses for placing portions of rolls of adjacent stands that extend outside housing. Minimally admissible spacing between three-high rolling stands is determined according to condition of contact of rolls of adjacent stands with use of given formula. EFFECT: lowered spacing between stands, enhanced reliability and increased useful life period of equipment, decreased end crops at operating with tension. 2 cl, 3 dwg, 1 ex
