FIELD: application of plastic tapes on metal substrates. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes casting plastic tape, passing this tape around cooling shaft which is provided with internal water cooling, feeding plastic tape to contact shaft and drawing it off between not closed contact shaft and substrate till process is stabilized, accelerating motion of plastic tape and substrate and heating substrate, pressing the plastic tape to substrate by closing contact shaft and substrate, tearing tape and discontinuing its drawing-off; substrate and cooling shaft are connected by means of plastic tape; then coat is applied at high velocity on substrate; during motion of plastic tape between cooling shaft and contact shaft at least one operation shall be performed; then thickness of tape, its color and tension are monitored, after which tape is cut to required width.
