FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed hopper feeder contains housing and bottom. Two groups of straps separated by flat vertical partition are installed inside along hopper axis. Straps are hinge-connected by means of axles in hopper bottom. Two inductors of linear induction motor are installed on outer surface of hopper at end faces of flat vertical partition opposite to each other. Movable members are rigidly coupled with axles of straps through tie- rods and levers from side of discharge hole. In initial position straps completely overlap discharge hole. From other side, movable members are connected with flexible members which, in their turn, are secured on hopper. Such design of hopper makes it possible to increase efficiency of elimination of bridge forming in hopper owing to transmission of vibration caused by "edge effects: of linear induction motor and from movable members of drive to loose material, both over perimeter of hopper through its walls and through vertical partition into loose material. Groups of straps act mechanically onto loose material directly in bottom of hopper in zone liable to bridge formation and prevent "bridging: in this place also.
