FIELD: production of thermo- radiation shields; heat and sound insulation in construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes placing 17 g of thermally split graphite at bulk density of 20-27 kg/cu m in cylindrical mold positioned between two punches. Then, drive of upper punch is switched on and is set in rotation at speed of 500 rpm. As soon as specific pressure of 70 kgf/sq cm has been built up, blank is kept at this pressure for 50 s. Rotation or vibration may be performed by both punches simultaneously or by one punch. As a result, laminated carbon material is obtained consisting of isotropic and anisotropic layers. Ratio of density of anisotropic layer to density of isotropic layer ranges from 1.2 to 43 and ratio of their thicknesses ranges from 0.01 to 0.2. Heat conductivity coefficient of material thus obtained ranges from 1.64 to 6.9 W/m K at heat resistance up to 450 C in air and up to 2500 C in inert medium.
