DRUM-TYPE DRYING PLANT Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: drying large-sized honeycombed blocks impregnated with polymer binder. SUBSTANCE: honeycombed block is rotated around axis parallel to axes of cells forming honeycombed block, forcing dehydrating air through cells at periodic change of direction of its motion through cells. Proposed plant includes drum rotating around horizontal axis which is mounted inside drive ring and fasteners. Drum is made in form of two chambers having rectangular section at one end and round section at other end; drive ring terminates in flange forming moving (revolving) labyrinth seal together with member of air ducts. One chamber is immovably secured on drive ring by means of bolt joint and second chamber is mounted on mobile truck; it has flange on rectangular end on which two equidistant sealing gaskets are located: one gasket is used for sealing-up fastening frame with honeycombed block and other gasket is used for sealing-up with first chamber and is secured with it means of four swing bolts. Dehydrating air supply system is provided with change-over valve which is set in motion by hydraulic cylinder according to preset program.
