In compliance with technique high-frequency oscillations are excited on resonance frequency of mould with consumable electrode employed as coaxial resonator, level of filling of mould with molten metal is estimated by change of frequency in process of melting, change of amplitude of high-frequency oscillations is used to make judgment on interelectrode space and drop closure. Varying high-frequency signal of self-excited oscillator is supplied to frequency meter and amplitude-detected voltage is fed into comparator for comparison with reference voltage.
