FIELD: laser engineering; adjustable-wavelength lasers. SUBSTANCE: laser has two optically intercoupled cavities arranged on common axis. First cavity is shaped by first semitransparent output mirror and second mirror transparent for high-gain wavelengths and nontransparent for low-gain wavelengths. Second cavity is shaped by first semitransparent output mirror and third mirror highly reflective for high-gain wavelengths. Active element is installed in first cavity. Gate is disposed in second cavity between second and third mirrors. It is made in the form of elongated dish mounted perpendicular to cavity axis; this dish has through hole whose center is aligned with optical axis of cavity and holds element nontransparent for laser radiation which is free to displace along dish. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of laser change over from one wavelength to other. 2 cl, 2 dwg
