FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric systems of vehicles furnished with dc motors, particularly to regenerative braking devices of traction electric motors of underground railway cars. Proposed device contains two parallel groups of traction motors. Armature windings of traction electric motors in each group are connected through diode into series circuit with field windings, anode reactors, two steps of brake resistor, thyristors in brake resistor circuits. Starting and braking of traction electric motors in effected by means of thyristor regulators of current in field windings and voltage in armature windings. Device is furnished in each group of traction motor with capacitor-type energy accumulators, additional thyristors, contactor and diode. Capacitor-type energy accumulators are connected to traction electric motors by means of additional thyristors, said electric motors operating under regenerative braking conditions accumulate regenerative braking energy. Under car starting conditions, capacitor-type energy accumulators feed accumulated energy to traction motors through additional contactors with diodes. So, device provides possibility of regenerative braking of car on underground railway tracks with traction substations not equipped with regenerative energy receiving devices.
