FIELD: railway and industrial transport. SUBSTANCE: proposed electromagnetic rail brake contains magnetic circuit in cores of which holes of rectangular section are made through which rods made of magnetically conducting rubber are passed. Coil of winding on form is mounted on yoke of magnetic circuits. Winding coil consists of wires which are located at forward winding first over yokes of first part of magnetic circuits and then under yokes of second part of magnetic circuits. At reverse winding, coil winding wires are located first over yokes of second part of magnetic circuits and then under yokes of first part of magnetic circuit. EFFECT: improved efficiency of electromagnetic rail brake, reduced time taken for preparation of brake for operation, possibility of operation as eddy current brake. 3 dwg
