FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for removing nitrogen-containing heterocyclic or aromatic compounds comprising at least one nitro-group. Method involves conversion of at least one nitro- -group to amino-group in contact of solution to be removed with microorganism of type Bacillus licheniformis. Invention relates also to method for synthesis of 5-amino-1,2,4-triazole-3-one from 5-nitro-1,2,4- -triazole-3-one using the conversion method mentioned above. Invention relates also to the strain of type Bacillus licheniformis at number 1-1915 in the National Collection of microorganism cultures belonging to Pasteur Institute that is able to convert nitro-group of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds to amino-group.
