FIELD: mechanical engineering; aircraft and rocket engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed energy support method of heat jet engine includes use of hydrogen- containing propellant, its preparation and changing into working medium, acting onto working medium by electric field through electrodes placed in flow, and excitation of heat-liberating nuclear reaction in working medium which creates thrust at efflux. Working medium is formed by mixing of hydrogen and deuterium, and electric field is formed in direction of movement of working medium with subsequent provision of longitudinal electric discharge limited in force but three-dimensional in character, with changing of working medium into state with excess electric charge. Invention makes it possible to increase specific impulse of engine owing to increase of levels of specific heat content converted into kinematic energy of working medium flow under other equal conditions.
