SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing high-speed and high- strength flywheels possessing multiple factor of safety and made of extremely plastic material with relatively low yield point includes forging production, heat treatment, mechanical pre-treatment, and pre-balancing. Novelty is that flywheel is subjected to dynamic cycling or acceleration to speeds exceeding operating value by 1.5 to 2 times followed by final balancing, if necessary. Flywheel manufactured by proposed method reliably takes dynamic loads due to dynamic cycling of its material in the course of manufacture. EFFECT: enhanced strength and reliability of flywheel. 2 cl
