FIELD: separation of ions of heavy metals by sorption on cellulose-containing sorbents from various solutions formed after performing technological processes. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in bringing ions in contact with cellulose-based polymer sorbent, for example used sawdust or short linen fibers; contact is continued for 1-15 min at room temperature and solution/sorbent modulus equal to 50-200; preliminary treatment of material is performed during 0.5-20 min by low-pressure gas-discharge plasma created in gas phase at discharge current of 15-50 mA, voltage at electrodes of 1-10 kV and pressure of 590-100 Pa. EFFECT: possibility of using low-cost sorbents, such as industrial wastes; enhanced ecological safety; reduced time of treatment and sorption process. 1 tbl
