FIELD: plastic metal working; mechanical engineering, manufacture of couplings. SUBSTANCE: method of manufacture of couplings incorporates steps of machining the inside surface of hollow workpiece with formation of spigots at the ends, finish machining of inside and outside surfaces and threading of inside spigots. In so doing, utilized shell is used as hollow workpiece and prior to machining the circular flanges of shell are removed up to formation of circular grooves with even bottom; then shell is subject to hot screw rolling on mandrel with piercing of its bottom up to matching diameter for wall thickness; end parts of different thickness are cut off, while the remaining portion is to be cut to length.
