FIELD: various fields of industry; reduction melting of ores and concentrates in metallurgy, as well as melting of mineral materials in neutral and oxidizing atmosphere in glassmaking furnaces. SUBSTANCE: Method includes steps of preparation and supply of charging materials vertically by oriented layers to roasting zone, burning and cross filtration of gases in charging material layer, tapping of fusion cake and slags. In so doing charging materials are supplied by parallel layers. Shaft of installation is made in form of rectangular section and divided into sections for charging materials, gases from air duct and exhaust gases, which are separated by vertical shutter grates fixed in longitudinal walls. At the same time on top of sections for gases from air duct flooring is provided, while on sections for exhaust gases flooring is provided on top and bottom. EFFECT: improved method of melting mineral materials by means of increasing filtration area in gas layer prior to melting, partial or complete replacement of coke with coal, reduced specific consumption of materials. 2 cl, 4 cl, 2 ex, 3 dwg
