FIELD: procedure of heat treatment of various mineral materials in downcast filter bed. SUBSTANCE: the installation for roasting of lump material has a shaft provided with longitudinal walls and perforated walls, inlet and outlet cavities with floors and a partition demarcating the shaft into the furnace and the cooler. The installation is provided with self-contained gas ducts of air supply to the cooler and discharge of the outgoing gases from the furnace, hopper of raw material mix and a hopper of cooled product with feeder. Connected in the shaft to the inlet and outlet cavities are the perforated walls of beams installed one above another installed vertically by parallel rows, the longitudinal walls are made with windows connected by common gas ducts, and the self-contained gas ducts of the furnace and cooler are connected to the windows from the other side of the longitudinal walls.
