FIELD: application of protective, corrosion-resistant and special-purpose coats on steel articles. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes degreasing of surface. One refractory metal and aluminum are evaporated simultaneously in vacuum chamber. Arc discharge is excited in vapors of evaporated metals in reactive gas medium. Accelerating potential is applied between backing and chamber. Chromium in the amount of 70-80% by mass is introduced in aluminum plasma and argon is introduced in reactive gas. Ratio of partial pressure of argon to partial pressure of reactive gas is equal to (0.21-0.42):1. EFFECT: enhanced heat-reflecting capacity of coat. 4 tbl, 1 ex
