FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to applying ornamental protective coatings onto objects manufactured from aluminum alloys in chemically reactive gas atmosphere, which may be used in parts operated in instrumentation and electronic industries. Increase in temperature resistance and wear resistance of aluminum alloy coating at 600-700оС is achieved by first forming chromium nitride intermediate layer 1-2 mcm thick on aluminum object before applying principal coating Zr0Al1-xN, wherein x varies between 0.4 and 0.6, having thickness 5 to 15 mcm.
EFFECT: increased temperature and wear resistance.
