FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves coating the surface of a hardmetal plate in a PVD installation chamber, at that, a protective layer of refractory compound nitrides is deposited on the surface of the plate, then, without interruption of the process, a coating of aluminium, which then is processed on a microarc oxidizing unit with the formation of aluminium oxide layers αand γ-modifications of 4-21 microns in thickness, is applied to the protective layer in the PVD installation chamber.
EFFECT: invention improves tool life and quality of treatment when it is exposed to high temperatures in the cutting zone.
