FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: material has at least two-layer fabric composed of two layers of fabric laid in crosswise direction at an angle to one another. Fabric is composed of first set of threads laid at density of 3.5-20 threads/cm and having linear density of at least 420 Dtex, and second set of threads laid at density of 0.5-8 threads/cm and having linear density of at least 50 Dtex. Second set of threads is extending transverse to first set of threads. Linear density ratio of first and second sets of threads exceeds 4.2. Thread laying density ratio of first and second sets of threads exceeds 1. First set of threads is composed of aramide filaments. Second set of threads is selected from the group consisting of polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, and aramide. First set of threads form warp and second set of threads form weft. Layer threads of two-layer fabric are bound with one another by adhesive. At least one of outer sides of material is covered with protective layer. Said material is used for manufacture of bullet- proof waistcoat and protective plates. EFFECT: improved protection from penetration due to increased deflecting capacity. 11 cl, 5 ex
