BULLETPROOF ARTICLE WITH UNEVENLY DISTRIBUTED MATRIX MATERIAL THE MATRIX AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC F41H1/02

Abstract RU 2664343 C1

FIELD: technological processes; protective devices.

SUBSTANCE: bullet-proof article and a method of manufacture thereof are proposed. Article comprises at least one consolidated composite comprising layer A and layer B connected to one another. Each layer A and B has a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, a cross section extending from the first surface to the second surface. Each layer A and each layer B comprise a network of fibers having a strength of at least 800 mN/tex (1,100 mPa) according to ASTM D 7269-07. Fibers in each layer A and B are impregnated with the matrix material. In this case, the matrix material is distributed across the cross section in the form of a concentration gradient. Concentration begins with a maximum value on the first surface such that this first surface has a large content of the matrix material, decreases along the cross-section and reaches a minimum value on the second surface so that this second surface has a small content of the matrix material. Matrix material contains a mixture of 75–95 % by weight of polychloroprene and 5–35 % by weight of a random copolymer of vinyl chloride and acrylic ester based on the weight of the mixture.

EFFECT: provides a more technological production without impairing the bulletproof product.
