FIELD: gas pipeline systems. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline valves and fittings and is designed for use on compressor stations of gas mains. Proposed rotary check valve contains valve body, rotary plate secured on valve shaft and turning between closed and open positions relative to pass channel, an hydraulic rotary damper. Two fixed separating partitions are installed in damper housing and damper shaft with fitted- on two rotary blades. Variable-volume working spaces of damper formed by separating partitions and rotary blades and filled with damping liquid are combined into pairs are placed in communication through throttling device. The latter controls time of closing (opening) of rotary plate. Shaft of damper is connected with shaft of valve. Additional adjustable damper liquid bypass channel is found between working spaces of damper. Area of opening of said channel depends on angle of turning of damper blades so that in zones close to closed and open positions of rotary plate of valve it is equal to zero.
