FIELD: television engineering. SUBSTANCE: errors are determined in results of comparison of signals from current image block pixels of current frame and from those of reference image block of preceding frame; if addresses of current image block of current frame and of reference image block of preceding frame are equal, error is found in comparison results of signals from pixels of these blocks; if they do not exceed specified value, flag code 000 is transferred; if specified condition is not satisfied, reference imager block is searched for in preceding frame macroblock; if comparison error does not exceed specified value, relative address of reference image block and flag code 001 are transferred; if conditions are not satisfied, reference image block in macroblock of preceding frame at minimal comparison error is assumed as new reference block and search for reference fragment of image is continued relative to this block, error in comparison of pixel signals is determined, and if it does not exceed specified value, indirect address of this image and flag code 010 are transferred; in absence of reference image block in preceding frame macroblock where error in comparison results of pixel signals and of current image block of current frame does not exceed specified value, then differential signal spectrum and reference image block data, as well as one of flag codes (100, 101, 110) are compressed and transmitted.
