Image decoding device comprises a variable length decoding module and a filtering module. Variable-length decoding unit performs variable-length decoding with respect to a parameter for generating prediction signals and a compressed differential image included in the input coded bitstream. Filtering unit performs filtering on the decoded image, which is obtained by summing the prediction image and the decoded differential image. Filtering module defines the class of each of the pixels that make up the decoded image, and performs a filtering process on the decoded image based on the filter obtained according to a particular class.
