METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATING AORTAL HEART FAILURE OF INFECTIOUS ETIOLOGY Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, cardiosurgery. SUBSTANCE: patient with active infectious valvular endocarditis is implanted with carcass-free xenobioprosthesis treated with epoxide compounds onto the site of abscess-destroyed tissues. Xenobioprosthesis is formed out of xenograft treated with epoxide compounds by dissecting 3 or 2 sinuses and keeping tissue strip of 2 mm width, not less. Fibrous ring of xenobioprosthesis is sutured with xenopericardium treated with epoxide compounds. If fibrous valvular ring and its adjacent tissues are damaged one should carry out plasty of fibrous ring due to suturing xenopericardial plate treated with epoxide compounds followed by its fixation to intact endocardium. The suggested method enables to replace aortal valve damaged by infectious process and remove local infectious focus and, also, prevent the development of infectious prosthetic endocarditis.
