FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of production of melted metal, particularly, iron or steel melt in metallurgical vessel, incorporates steps of charging metalliferrous or metal oxide- containing charge in solid or, if necessary, liquid form to metallurgical vessel. The basic portion of energy necessary for melting and, if necessary, final reduction of charge, is introduced with usage of electricity and/or by means of combustion and/or gasification of carbon-containing materials. Multifunctional lance is also provided while using this method. Multifunctional lance consists of several pipes enclosing each other and being concentric with longitudinal axis. The second pipe is made in the form of Laval nozzle for oxygen supply and encloses the first central pipe for supply of solid particles or dust. The fifth pipe enclosing the forth pipe forms the forth circular gap for supply of oxygen-containing gas which terminates on side of nose with formation of several outlet channels. Middle axis of each channel is oriented with inclination toward central longitudinal axis of lance and pointed in opposite direction from lance. EFFECT: reduced electric power and fuel consumption; creation of multifunctional lance being compact and simple in design. 65 cl, 11 dwg, 5 ex
