Abstract RU 2301837 C2

FIELD: metallurgy; treatment of metal melts and/or slags in metallurgical unit or melting vessel for top blowing in electric arc furnace or injection of oxygen-saturated gases into it.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on use of jacket in form of hot gas (5) introduced into central high-velocity jet (6') at minimization of relative velocity and exchange of pulses between central high-velocity jet (6') and hot gas jacket jet (5). High-velocity jet (6') in injector (1) is accelerated in nozzle system in form of Laval's nozzle to velocity of 300-850 m/s; hot gas(5) is accelerated to approximately the same velocity by means of nozzle (4) provided with circular slot of injector (1); hot gas(5) is fed to inlet of injector (1) at temperature of 300-1800C. Injector is modular in construction; it consists of oxygen injector (10) with inner wall (11) and Laval's nozzle (13) for acceleration of oxygen-saturated gases (6) surrounded by hot gas branch pipe (2) whose outlet zone is provided with nozzle (4) having the circular slot. Proposed method makes it possible to maximize the length of oxygen-saturated gas jet freely escaping into interior of metallurgical unit and depth of its penetration into slag layer.

EFFECT: increased specific use of gas jet energy; simplified construction of injector.
