FIELD: apparatuses for making at realizing gas-phase process finely dispersed and ultradispersed powders of metals and alloys, application of metallic coatings in vacuum onto metallic and non-metallic articles. SUBSTANCE: evaporator includes container for melt arranged at outer side of cylindrical screen and heater placed inside said screen. Cylindrical cells forming cavity of container are arranged stepwise in housing of container in such a way that volume of cavities reduces towards base of container. Yield of metal vapor and level of melt metal in cylindrical cells are sustained in autonomous mode by means of duct system for discharging vapor and system for feeding melt to cavity of each cell. EFFECT: simplified process for making evaporator, enhanced operational reliability at continuous long-term operation cycle. 1 dwg
