SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, diesel engine not loaded by external moment of resistance is set for free acceleration and consumption of fuel within preset range of angular velocities is measured. Condition of plunger pairs of high-pressure fuel is determined by ratio of maximum of hourly consumption of fuel to hourly consumption of fuel within the range of starting rpms. Condition of fuel feed corrector is determined by ratio by ratio of maximum hourly fuel consumption to hourly fuel consumption in zone of operation of fuel feed corrector.
