FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to propulsion engineering, in particular, to restoration of the resource of a fuel pump of high pressure of a diesel engine during repair by re-using the rejected components of a high-pressure pump of a line type. To do this, after control (fault detection), the plunger pairs are grouped according to characteristic parameters and are prepared for re-use. Completed plunger pairs are installed in the body of the high-pressure pump UTN-5 according to the technical requirements for repair; then discharge valves are installed and fittings are screwed; then fittings 2–5 are connected by high pressure fuel pipes 9, 10 in pairs through tee 8 – the first with the fourth and the second with the third. Further, in the fuel pump of a diesel engine, repair cam shaft 6 with profile four cams is installed, providing the same laws for lifting the pushers and the same time for fuel delivery in the pairwise plunger pairs of fuel pipes. In the repaired fuel pump there is a synchronous injection of fuel in pairs connected plunger pairs, as a result of which the total active stroke of two plungers is doubled, therefore, cyclic fuel supply supplied to the cylinder through nozzle 12 is increased.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the service life of a fuel pump of a diesel engine due to a more complete utilization of the residual life, which is achieved through the conversion of high-pressure pump from four-stem to two-stem with repeated use of a repaired fuel pump for two-cylinder diesel engines.
