FIELD: nuclear power engineering; fuel assembly manufacture. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes heating of spacer grids in the open at temperature and within time interval sufficient for producing oxide films on their component parts and sorting out by colors acquired by them. Heating is effected at t = 330-350 C for 1 1.2 h so that cells acquire light-yellow color, if they are made of stainless steel or dark-yellow, if they are made of zirconium. In this way stainless-steel cells are sorted out from zirconium ones in the course of manufacture. EFFECT: enhanced quality and operating reliability of spacer grids. 2 cl, 2 dwg
