FIELD: nuclear power engineering; manufacture of fuel assemblies for nuclear power reactors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes manufacture of shaped subchannels from thin-walled zirconium tubes and their spot welding together to form field of shaped subchannels for passing through them fuel elements; manufacture of component parts of spacer grid hexahedral rim and their fixation by spot welding to peripheral shaped subchannels of assembled field; prior to using thin-walled zirconium alloy tubes for manufacturing shaped subchannels, thin-walled zirconium tubes of each definite lot are weighed, their total length and actual outer diameter are measured, and these data are used to evaluate mean design thickness of definite-lot thin-walled tube; then pressing-tool die key is chosen, and quantity of spacer grids manufactured from thin-walled tubes of definite lot is determined.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of spacer grid subchannel fabrication.
