FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves positioning a patient in a way that his/her leg is placed under image converter tube. Ideal round opening for blocking the intramedullary rod is to be displayed on the monitor screen by moving the image converter tube. Flexible drill is introduced via pierce in skin near the opening. Surgeon hands are outside of radiation. The flexible drill is manufactured as needle of 2 mm diameter, its end being flattened to 4 mm and is sharpened as spear. The flexible drill end is centered above the opening under image converter tube control and the nearest cortical bone layer is drilled and then the far cortical bone layer is drilled via the opening in the intramedullary rod. Required blocking screw length is determined by applying any standard method in measuring drilled opening depth. EFFECT: simplified process of introducing the blocking screw. 1 dwg
