INFUSION DEVICE FOR INJECTION OF FLUIDS WITHIN A WIDE RANGE OF TRANSPARENCY Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2219959 C2

FIELD: automatic infusion devices for injection of fluids by means of a pump. SUBSTANCE: the infusion device represents a peristaltic pump designed for intake of fluid from a separate reservoir and delivery of it to the patient's organism, it has a standard single infusion system linked with the working part of the peristaltic pump, and a control unit. The infusion device is provided with a photometric air sensor located on a flexible transparent tube of the single infusion system. The photometric sensor is made with one light radiator and two photodetectors. The flexible transparent tube serves as a lens between the photoradiator and photodetectors. The first photodetector is positioned opposite the light radiator on the other side of the flexible transparent tube along the straight beam from the light radiator passing the middle of the cross- section of the flexible transparent tube, the second photodetector is positioned at an angle of not more than 90 deg to the direction of the straight beam from the light radiator. This provides for operation of the first photodetector for receiving of the transmitted light, and of the second on-receiving of the reflected and scattered light from the fluid in the transparent tube of the single infusion system. EFFECT: expanded range of transparency of injected fluids, enhanced reliability of catching of the bubbles of air that has got into the hydropath. 4 dwg
