FIELD: chemical and food industries. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a device for magnetic treatment of liquid. The invention is dealt with heat-and-power engineering and processes of water preparation in the chemical, food and other industries, where it is necessary to prevent the water scale on a surface of the heat exchanging equipment, as well as with other technological processes. The technical effect of the offered invention is reduction of time necessary for clearing of the heat-exchanging equipment from scale. The device includes a multipolar source of a magnetic field on the basis of permanent magnets made in the form of a rod by the way the rod located inside a body with a running clearance. Poles are directed to the running clearance and have alternating polarity. The permanent magnets are manufactured with the magnetic texture, directed at an angle of 2-20 deg., mainly at an angle of 5-15 deg. to their geometrical axis and axes of the rod and body are shifted in respect to each other and at that their parallelism is kept if the angle between them is equal to 5-30 deg.
