ARTIFICIAL ARCHIPELAGO Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: water-development projects, development and construction on sea shelf. SUBSTANCE: artificial archipelago includes central island and peripheral islands. Central island is positioned on ring support with passages shut- off by gates and partitions diverging like beams from ring support and is equipped with closed outer barrier with passages shut-off by gates and with shipways between passages in ring support and outer barrier limited by partitions. Partitions divide space between ring support and outer barrier into basins where fish is kept. Peripheral islands are arranged in chain and are embraced by chain of artificial reefs. Part of partition of shipway on central island comes in the form of grate or mesh mounted for exchange of water between shipways and at least one adjacent basin. Peripheral islands have form extended along outer barrier of central island and artificial reef has shape of cone, includes part above water and is provided with developed underwater surface. EFFECT: provision for ecological safety of extraction of hydrocarbon feed in combination with effective environmental control. 18 cl, 1 dwg
