METHOD FOR TREATING SOYA BEANS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture, plant science. SUBSTANCE: the innovation deals with treating soya bean seeds. Soya beans are pretreated with nontoxic disinfecting substance, for instance, copper sulfate, whole soya beans are rinsed with water, sprouting is carried out in aqueous solution of salts for 5-7 d at the following ratios of salts (g)/100 l solution: potassium nitrate 54-58; calcium nitrate 58-62; monopotassium phosphate 12-16; magnesium sulfate 22- 24; water - the rest. Then beans should be treated with propionic acid solution at 8-10% concentration and subjected for thermal treatment at 65-75 C up to beans moisture content to be 8-12 %. The method enables to increase efficiency of plant protein obtained due to decreased content of antinutritive substances. The suggested technology enables to decrease energy and labor expenses.
