FIELD: chemical and thermal treatment of metals and alloys for obtaining heat-resistant corrosion protective coats; aviation; metallurgy; chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preliminary treatment of metal article surface in medium containing fluorine ions forming fluorides of metals on surface and treatment of surface at heating in gas medium; preliminary treatment is performed in strong aqueous solutions of electrolytes containing fluorine ions; procedure is continued for 2-10 minutes at room temperature, after which surface is dried in air at room temperature. Then, surface is subjected to oxidation at heating in oxygen-containing gas media at temperature lesser than temperature at which fluorides are completely removed from surface.
