FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a titanium product for a separator of a fuel element with a proton-exchange membrane, a separator comprising this titanium product, and a fuel element with a proton-exchange membrane. Titanium product includes a base material that consists of pure titanium. First oxide layer that is formed in the surface layer of the titanium product consists of TiO2 with the crystal structure of rutile and has a thickness of 0.1–1.5 nm. Second oxide layer that is formed between the base material and the first oxide layer consists of TiOx (1<x<2) and has a thickness of 3–20 nm. This titanium product is suitable for use as a separator of a fuel element with a proton-exchange membrane.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to maintain a low contact resistance with an electrode composed of a carbon fiber, et cetera, and is also inexpensive.
