FIELD: medicine, laboratory diagnosis. SUBSTANCE: method for assay of leukocytes filtering capacity involves the following steps: whole blood is separated for erythrocytes and leukocytes by centrifugation and leukocytes suspension is prepared in the concentration 5 000 cells in 1 ml of saline buffer solution with ions concentration maximally approximated to that in blood plasma. Leukocyte suspension is filtered through microporous membrane being without effect of external force and amount of leukocytes in suspension is determined by their counting in Goryaev's chamber and index of leukocytes filtering capacity (LFI) is calculated by the formula: LFI = L (filtrate)/L (suspension of leukocytes) wherein L (filtrate) is amount of leukocytes in filtered suspension; L (suspension of leukocytes) is amount of leukocytes in suspension before filtration.
