FIELD: inorganic compounds technology. SUBSTANCE: fluorine is produced from solid-phase metal fluorides and their complex salts via thermal decomposition. Process is carried out by heating to 150-400 C salts of metals in high oxidation state in the form of granules or tablets 1.0 to 3.0 mm in size. Temperature gradient in the bed upon heating does not exceed 15 C. In particular, starting salts utilized are MnF4, and other salts such as K3NiF7, K2NiF6, K2CuF6, and related compounds.
