FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, specifically, palletizing of iron ore, concentrates and waste metallurgical industry. SUBSTANCE: process includes compounding of sinter burden from iron-carrying materials comprising mixture of iron ore concentrates, ore, sintering, converter and/or less blast-furnace slimes, scale, solid fuel, fluxes, moisture and its preparation by averaging, mixing, wetting, palletizing and loading into sintering machine in one or two layers, its ignition and sintering. Slimes are metered and loaded into sintering machine separately with injection of blast-furnace dust. Certain proportions are established for converter slime, scale, blast-furnace slime and mixture of iron-containing concentrates, ore, sintering slime and blast-furnace dust. EFFECT: diminished specific usage of initial materials thanks to return into production process of slimes and scale, increased strength of sinter, raised efficiency of sintering machine, decreased harmful effect on environment due to reduced number of sinter collectors and storages. 2 tbl
