FIELD: computer engineering; disk drives and their controllers. SUBSTANCE: memory device saves integral parameter characterizing data position on disk data medium. Arithmetic unit is designed to compute data for controlling drive basing on information about position revealed by position detector and on integral parameter corresponding to this information about position. Correcting device is designed for setting integral parameter in compliance with accuracy of calculations made by arithmetic device and for correcting calculation results of the latter. In the course of disk drive manufacture write/read device is displaced in all radial positions in which it can reside on disk data medium whereupon integral parameter is computed in each radial position. If integral parameter value exceeds accuracy of calculations executed by arithmetic unit, integral parameter is corrected by adjusting it to value within accuracy of calculations made by arithmetic unit. Disk drive controller is designed to control operation of this disk drive including data correction to control device drive in setting integral parameter to comply with accuracy of calculations made by arithmetic unit.
