FIELD: magnetic disk storage equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves generation of synchronization pattern by means of inner writing head, and detection of radial position of writing head. Servo system pattern is stored in positions which depend on synchronization pattern and value of radial position. Step of tracks for writing is detected by means of storage of magnetic jump into track set by means of head, which writes widest track. Initial track step depends on initial value of radial position. Selection of track step is monitored by means of comparison of test reading signals. EFFECT: possibility to write servo system pattern without external sensitive elements. 62 cl, 21 dwg
