FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has plate with handle and four projections made in the form of disks on plate smooth surface, and molded sheet pivotally connected at its one side with plate and provided with openings aligned with plate projections. Molded sheet is positioned above plate and has sizes similar to those of sheet. Openings in molded sheet are equipped with circumferential upper and lower flanges. Radial through channels in lower flanges are running from plate projections to smooth surface of plate. Indicator paper is inserted between plate and molded sheet. Lever is rigidly attached to molded sheet on side pivotally connected to plate at an angle to plate handle and is spring-loaded. Milk is milked out from respective udder quadrant into openings in molded sheet. Excessive milk wets reagent on indicator paper pressed to disks and flows therefrom through radial through channels into gaps between disks. Mastitis is diagnosed by changing color of reagent and consistency of remaining milk. After changing of indicator paper, milk of subsequent cow is subjected to analysis. EFFECT: increased efficiency in revealing of mastitis through the use of indicator cards and increased precision of diagnosis. 2 cl, 3 dwg
