Small quantities of synovial exudate of uniform structure in slit-shaped bursa and no proliferative changes in synovial membrane being detected, rheumatoid arthritis activity of the first degree is to be diagnosed. Medium quantities of synovial exudate of non-uniform structure caused by fine suspension available in bursa assuming oval shape in combination with fuzzy outlines of synovial membrane and focal proliferative transformation signs being detected, second degree activity is to be diagnosed. Large quantities of synovial exudate of non-uniform structure like hyperechogenic coarse flocculent suspension available in bursa assuming round shape in combination with inhomogeneous thickening of synovial membrane and focal or diffuse proliferative transformations like hyperechogenic formations having fuzzy outlines or fimbriate vegetations being detected, third degree activity is to be diagnosed.
