Method includes carrying out ultrasonic examination of periosteal and para-articular soft tissues, joint cavity, periosteum, cortical layer of bone. Additionally determined are signs of affection of epiphyseal cartilage, ossification core, periosteum, cortical layer of bone. In case of presence of edema of soft tissues, changes of joint structures in form of increase of joint capsule width in comparison with symmetric side, increase of its echogenicity and detection of joint liquid of different echogenicity and echostructure; changes of epiphysial parts of extremities in form of heterogeneity and increase of echogenicity of cartilage epiphysis, presence of unechogenic liquid formations in cartilage epiphysis; irregularity of ossification core contour, impairment of ossification core structure, determined by presence of its fragmentation or in case of detection of hyperehogenic structure of round shape with liquid centre; thickening of periosteum, increase of its ehogenicity, irregularity of external contour; change of cortical layer in form of contour irregularity, unevenness of its thickness, acute hematogenic epiphyseal osteomyelitis is diagnosed.
