FIELD: metallurgy; processing dump metallurgical slags; production of magnetic, weakly magnetic and non-magnetic components from these slags. SUBSTANCE: after extraction of large scrap, slag is ground to size lesser than 4 mm and magnetic separation of slag is first performed in separators located in series and provided with permanent magnets, after which separation is performed in separators located in series and provided with electromagnets for final extraction of metals and/or metal alloys and/or metal oxides form slag separated preliminarily. Proposed method may be applied for processing dump slags of any process of ferroalloys. Degree of extraction of metal and/or alloy is 90-95% and that of metal oxides is 60-80%, thus making it possible to use remaining dead rock with no danger of contamination of environment. Metals extracted by this method (nickel, tungsten, chromium, vanadium, etc.), their alloys and oxides are obtained in sorted-out form, but not in mixture.
