FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to secondary processing of metallurgical raw materials in form of metal scrap with a total iron content of 10% to 85%. When processing scrap, repeated separation into fractions, crushing and magnetic separation are carried out. The scrap is primarily separated into fractions of 0-5 mm and 5-150 mm, the scrap of the fraction of 5-150 mm is subjected to mechanical processing in an impact crusher, the crushing elements of which are made of hard-alloy material, at a circumferential speed of rotation of the rotor beaters from 25 to 40 m/s, as a result of elastic impact deformation inclusions in form of residual metallurgical slag and iron oxide break off from the scrap. The material obtained after mechanical processing is dispersed into fractions of 0-5 mm and 5-150 mm, scrap fractions of 5-150 mm are subjected to magnetic separation to separate metallurgical slag and obtain a metal concentrate. All material of the fraction of 0-5 mm, obtained during primary separation and separation after impact crusher, is subjected to magnetic separation to separate metallurgical slag and extract iron oxide.

EFFECT: ensures high degree of recycling of metal scrap to obtain metal concentrate with a total iron content of 93-97%.
