FIELD: mechanical engineering; pneumatic pressure converters; smoothbore guns. SUBSTANCE: proposed device relates to general purpose systems with transmission of fluid medium, mainly gases, by changing their pressure and subsequent conversion of pressure into kinetic energy of body (working member, projectile, etc. ). Proposed device contains two spaces divided by partition with perforation in form of at least one through hole to let fluid medium pass from first space into second one. Body movable in direction from partition is provided to limit second space at least from side opposite to partition. Diameter of holes in partition equals one fourth of its thickness. In specific versions of device, diameter of holes in partition equals one fifth of its thickness. Partition is made with maximum perforation coefficient defined by condition of strength. Holes in partition are conical, with base on cone pointed to first chamber side. Vertex angle of cone of partition holes is within 16 and 24 degrees. Use of proposed device improved performance characteristics of device owing to increased dynamic action of fluid medium, mainly gases, on movable body and reduced its static action onto other surfaces limiting the chamber together with body.
